Nate Rivera, 11, hails from Canton and has been training hard at Elite Sports Performance & Physical Therapy in Stoughton since last fall. A competitive and dedicated soccer player, Nate plays left wing for the Boston Bolts Soccer Club. He joined the Athlete Training program at Elite last year to help improve his strength, stamina, and speed, as well as to help prevent injuries. Since training at Elite, Nate tells us, “I feel stronger and healthier…I have more stamina and I feel great!” Despite his great gains so far, Nate says that he plans to keep training at Elite to continue to improve his strength, endurance and speed. He tells us his favorite exercise is the box jump and his favorite dynamic stretch is the Quad Pull & Reach.

When asked about his proudest accomplishment so far in his young career, Nate was very proud that his club team won the championship at the Columbus Day Cup Tournament last year. Individually, he was also very proud that he was able to score his first goal with a header! When asked what defines a true athlete, Nate says that true athlete is “dedicated, a hard worker, and shows leadership skills.” When asked what advice he might give to other younger athletes, he keeps it simple: “Work hard and don’t give up. You will have good and bad days, but just continue to work hard.” We couldn’t agree more!

What about his favorite athlete? “Christiano Ronaldo…he is dedicated, works hard, trains hard, and he is the best soccer player in the world.” (We’re sure those Man U fans would agree…but perhaps not those Barcelona/PSG fans!). When asked about why he continues to train hard, Nate explains that in addition to pursuing his dream of one day playing professional soccer, he also says, “I’m staying fit and healthy and I have self-confidence.” As to why he chooses to train here at Elite, Nate says his favorite part of training here is, “the coaches are great…all of the staff are very nice and helpful.”

Congratulations, Nate! We are excited to honor you as our Elite Athlete of the Month for September, 2021 and see all of your hard work in the gym paying off! Keep up the great work in the gym and we look forward to helping you continue to improve and realize all of your soccer dreams!
