Adam Hertel, or “Big Hert” as his friends and teammates call him, is 11 years old and plays football and lacrosse for the King Philip Warriors. Adam joined Elite Sports Performance & Physical Therapy as an athlete back in March, 2019 and has been getting after it ever since! Adam first came to Elite with the goal of becoming quicker on the field by working on his footwork. He participated in our S.P.A.R. (Speed, Power, Agility, and Reaction) class, but also tried a Strength Training session and quickly realized the importance of improving strength to become faster! Like most of our athletes, he now participates in both our S.P.A.R. and Strength classes and is seeing great results!

Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, Adam was training consistently at Elite to maintain his quick footwork while practicing with his club team, Boston Laxachusetts. When Elite started offering virtual training sessions amid the pandemic, Adam was one of the first to sign up and rarely missed a session. He’s currently participating in Elite’s Outdoor Re-Bootcamp Preaseason Training program and plans to continue training throughout the summer!

With his consistency and dedication to training, Adam has become, in his words, “BIGGER, FASTER, STRONGER” on the football and lacrosse fields and has also seen improvements in his agility and endurance! He also thoroughly the mental and physical challenge of our “Explosive Arms” exercise to finish off his workout, which demonstrates Adam’s mental toughness!

Adam’s hard work off the field has certainly translated onto the field, especially in lacrosse where he made the New England Team for Warrior All-American Games in 2019 and 2020 as well as the Boston Junior Cannons team in 2020! Adam plans to one day play football or lacrosse for a Division I program while also focusing on his academics and hopes to one day be an Academic All-American. Ultimately, he hopes to become a professional athlete!

We’re excited to honor Adam Hertel as Elite Athlete of the Month for June, 2020! Congratulations Adam, and keep working hard to get better every day!
