Michael O’Neill: June 2020 Athlete of the Month

Congratulations to Elite’s Athlete of the Month for June, 2020, Michael O’Neill of Mansfield. Mike is rising sophomore at Bishop Feehan High School and plays football for the Shamrocks! This past season was Mike’s first year playing football and he absolutely crushed it!

Mike has been a dedicated member at Elite Sports Performance & Physical Therapy for over 3 years now and has been one of our most consistent and hard-working athletes Elite has ever seen! He originally came to Elite with the goal of gaining strength but has also enjoyed working on his speed, agility, quickness, and explosive power.

Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, Mike was participating in Elite’s S.P.A.R. (Speed, Power, Agility, Reaction) class while also strength training at the Bishop Feehan weight room. Mike is always looking for ways to get quicker and more agile and he loves the supportive atmosphere of Elite and close-knit community where the coaches always welcome him with a smile and end the workout with a fist bump.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Mike had no interest in binge watching the latest show on Netflix; he wanted to spend his time doing everything he could to prepare for his next season. Mike participated in EVERY virtual training session offered by Elite and is currently training in Elite’s Outdoor Re-Bootcamp Preseason Training program. He’s a great role model for all athletes as he knows this is no time to sit back and stop progressing, but in fact, it is the perfect time to focus on working hard and getting better as he plans to one day play college football and study mechanical engineering.
